BREWER – Diane M. Peterson, 73, wife of Robert E. Peterson, died unexpectedly Oct. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 12, 1939, in East Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Timothy and Diana (Perry) Cook.

Diane worked with the public in many capacities and is known and loved by many people in the area. She also participated in the Emblem Club, an affiliation of the Elks Club, for several years, where she also served a term in office.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 54 years, are her three children, Dennis Peterson of Brewer, Doris Nalley and her husband, Robert, of Ellsworth and Diane Parker and her husband, Greg, of Haverlock, N.C.; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, John Cook and his wife, Jeanne, of Andover, N.H.; one sister, Catherine Rose and her husband, Robert, of Salisbury, N.H.; many nieces and nephews.

A service honoring her life will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
