GRANBY, MASS. – Paul H. Gilman, 74, died Oct. 13, 2012, surrounded by his family at home. He was born March 15, 1938, in Brewer, son of the late Seth W. and Muriel (Williams) Gilman.
Paul was a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving at Westover Air Force Base for 30 years. He was a member of the Shriners and a member of the Masons in Maine. Paul enjoyed working on puzzles, visiting friends in Las Vegas and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Wendy (Morgan) Gilman of Granby, Mass.; and four children, Debbie Plante and husband, Paul, of Heath, Mass., Paula Gilman-Robidoux of Feeding Hills, Mass., Dale Joaquin of Houston, and Paul Gilman II of Indian Orchard, Mass. He also leaves two sisters, Susan Bullard and husband, Cecil, of Dedham, and Pamela Hill and husband, Eugene, of Orrington; and brother, Stephen Gilman of Bangor. He will be missed by 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Seth Gilman II.
Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19. Interment will be 1 p.m. Friday at Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, Mass.
