ETNA and MACCLENNY, Fla. – Finley Chester Gardner Jr., 70, husband of Kathryn Cynthia (Henderson) Gardner, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Oct. 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Etna. He was born May 13, 1942, in Allagash, the son of Finley Chester Gardner Sr. and Emma (Hafford) Gardner.
Chet lived and worked in the Jacksonville, Fla., area for more than 45 years. He retired from Metal Container Corp., Jacksonville, Fla., as a line adjuster after 30 years of service. Chet devoted his life to his family and God, and he loved witnessing and sharing God’s love with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Chet is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathryn of Etna; daughter, Sheila Janine Gardner Daniels and her husband, Timothy Shawn Daniels, of St. Johns, Fla.; sister, Edna Marie Robinson and her husband, Arthur Robinson, of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Donna Jean Higgins and her husband, Arthur Higgins, of Belgrade; granddaughter, Ashley Amber Musgrave Ruffaner and her husband, John Ruffaner, and their children, Keira, Alise and Elijah; granddaughter, Brittany Nichole Musgrave; grandson, Jonathan Edward Lohse; aunts, Margaret Rodriques of Bangor and Albertine Brownell of St. Francis; uncle, Wilford Hafford and his wife, Jarmain, of Hampden; nieces, nephews, cousins; a very special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gregory Wayne Henderson and his wife, Connie Henderson, of Etna; as well as many loving and close friends.
