MAPLETON – Raymond Wysocki, 84, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, Mass., with his loving family by his side, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease and complications from pneumonia. Ray was born Sept. 1, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Walter and Katherine Wysocki.
He was a 30-year retired chief master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and professor emeritus of the University of Maine at Presque Isle for 13 years. In 1991 he married the love of his life, Rachel Paradis, and together they traveled the world, enjoyed skiing, hiking camping, gardening and sailing.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel; one son, Jay Wysocki; one stepson, Kevin Daigle and wife, Diane; one grandson, Dominic Daigle; and one stepdaughter, Sandra Daigle and partner, Jennifer Moore. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Robert Wysocki. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Edward Wysocki.
According to Ray’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family will spread his ashes at sea, where he enjoyed sailing and swimming.
