SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A Saco man was arrested after allegedly threatening a woman with a handgun while passing in a vehicle on Route 1 in Scarborough, police said Wednesday afternoon.
A woman called 911 just after 11 a.m. Wednesday reporting that a man in the passenger seat of a vehicle that passed by her on Route 1 “flashed a handgun at her in a threatening manner,” according to a news release issued by the Scarborough Police Department.
Using the caller’s description and a partial license plate number, police tracked down the vehicle farther down Route 1 near Hannaford Drive.
There, officers arrested passenger Aaron Gouzie, 26, of Saco, and charged him with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle.
He faces additional charges of trafficking in marijuana and possession of schedule Z drugs after police allegedly found 6 ounces of marijuana packaged individually, along with a scale, while searching the vehicle.
The female driver of the vehicle was released without charges, according to Scarborough police.
