York gives Central Aroostook overtime win against Fort Fairfield
MARS HILL — Brea York scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Central Aroostook tipped Fort Fairfield 1-0 in girls soccer action Tuesday.
Karli Levesque assisted on York’s goal.
Central Aroostook goalie Paige Garrison had five saves while Fort Fairfield’s Sarah Watt recorded three saves.
Central Aroostook had eight shots on goal compared to six for Fort Fairfield.
Bangor 7, Brewer 0
At Brewer, Ali Boulier had three goals and an assist and Grace Maclean scored twice as Bangor earned the victory.
Jackie Veilleux and Katerina Dagher also scored for the Rams, while Emily Brookings and Emily Smith each had an an assist.
Bangor goalie Cordelia Stewart made one save on two shots, while Brewer’s Glory Watson made five saves on 19 shots.
Bangor 4, Mt. Blue 0
At Farmington on Monday, Grace Maclean and Katrina Dahger posted a goal and an assist apiece to pace the Rams.
Mary Butler and Eve George also scored for Bangor, and Ali Boulier had an assist. Cordelia Stewart made two saves on five shots.
For the Cougars, Gabby Foy and Thia Bridges combined for five saves on 15 shots.

DI-S 4, Bangor Christian 3
At Deer Isle, Paige Rollins scored four goals as the Mariners edged Bangor Christian.
Chelsea Brown added a goal and two assists for the Mariners, while Julie Hutchins and Holly Boyce also had assists.
Rebecca Bach scored twice and Katherine Jones once for Bangor Christian, with Olivia Arnold contributing an assist.
Brunswick 2, Mount Ararat 0
At Topsham, Kassidy Scarponi scored in the first half and Anna Cowan added an insurance goal late in the second half as Brunswick improved its record to 12-0. Mt. Ararat is now 8-4.
Bucksport 3, Mattanawcook 0
At Lincoln, Elisabeth Jakobsen scored a hat trick to propel the Golden Bucks past Mattanawcook Academy.
Jakobsen converted two free kicks, one in each half, and added another first-half goal for 7-3-2 Bucksport.
Alanna Davis made six saves on eight shots in goal for the Bucks.
Carli McDonald and Taylor Blood combined to make 14 saves on 18 shots for 4-8-1 Mattanawcook.
Easton 5, East Grand 3
At Easton, the Bears came back from a four-week layoff with their ninth win of the season.
Cassie Buck had two goals and two assists for 9-2-1 Easton, while Kylee Carter had a goal and an assist and Carla Halvorson and Kelsey Frank each added a goal.
Easton goalies Hannah Ferris and Caitlin Monroe combined for four saves on seven shots.
Shaunna Beaudoin had two goals and an assist for 8-3 East Grand of Danforth, while Felicia Cowger also contributed a goal.
East Grand goalie Chelsea Winiarski made 25 saves on 31 shots.
Ellsworth 4, GSA 0
At Ellsworth, Katey Curtis scored two goals to power Ellsworth past George Stevens Academy.
Morgan Card and Emma Sweeney tacked on a goal each, and Anika Firestone and Brianna Reardon picked up assists for Ellsworth.
Goalie Jessica Toothaker made three saves for Ellsworth, and GSA ‘keeper Mallory Flannery made nine saves.

At Bar Harbor, Opel Curless scored the winning goal off an assist from Bailey Burr with 23:45 remaining in the second half to lift the Trojans to the win.
Central 7, Lee 0
At Corinth, Max McHugh scored four goals — including the 100th of her career — as Central cruised to the victory.
McHugh had three goals and an assist on a goal by Remay Burke in the first half to help the Red Devils take a 4-0 lead. She then scored her 100th career goal six minutes into the second half on a penalty kick.
Burke finished the game with two goals and Emylee Miles also scored for Central, while McHugh had two assists, Sagilia Pinkham had one assist and goalie Ali Crocker saved the lone shot she faced.
Amber Wilcockson made 12 saves on 24 shots for Lee Academy.
Calais 8, Narraguagus 0
At Calais, Meaghan Cavanaugh scored four goals to lead the Blue Devils past Narraguagus of Harrington.
Kate Cundiff added two goals for Calais, while Madison Mcvicar had a goal and an assist and Paige Gillespie scored a goal. Olivia Smith, Jordan Hatch, Carly Davis, Jamie Fein and Janelle Pottle each contributed an assist for Calais.
Sumner 2, Searsport 0
At East Sullivan, Genesis DiCarlo scored the game winner for Sumner at 12:22 of the second half.
Freshman Taya Moore scored an insurance goal with two minutes remaining in the game for the 2-10-1 Tigers.
Sumner goalie Jordan Merchant made 11 saves on 16 shots to earn the shutout.
Libby Lane faced 10 shots with three saves in goal for 3-8 Searsport.
Bangor 3, Brewer 1
At Bangor, Hunter Boyce scored a pair of goals and Nate Bach had a goal and an assist as Bangor upended Brewer.
Josh Audibert and Kenny Colpritt had assists and Colton Markevich made four saves on seven shots.
Yutaro Kawanura scored for Brewer off a Josh Theriualt assist.
Ian Burgess made eight stops on 15 shots.
Caribou 3, Madawaska 0
At Madawaska, Nolan McDuffie scored two goals and Kameron Manter also scored as Caribou handed Madawaska its first loss.
now 10-1 and Caibou is now 8-3-1.
Dean Walker had two assists and Cody Herbert also had an assist for 8-3-1 Caribou.
Caribou goalie Matthew Manter saved all six shots he faced, while Tim Deschenes made seven saves on 10 shots for 10-1 Madawaska.
Searsport 4, Dexter 1
At Searsport, Dylan Sieber scored twice to lead the Vikings past Dexter.
Jake Keniston and Dylan Grant also scored for 5-6-1 Searsport, while goalie Austin Bean made seven saves on nine shot.
Dexter’s Nathan Robichaud scored on a penalty kick. Chris Rice made 11 saves on 23 shots for the Tigers, who are now 0-13.
East Grand 8, Easton
At Easton, Jake Flewelling, Cody Halvorson and Logan Dickinson each scored twice to lead Easton to victory.
Nick Clark and Drew Sotomayor also scored for the 7-5 Bears, while Jared Hafford made two saves on four shots in goal.
Logan Crone scored for 1-10 East Grand of Danforth, while goalie Alex Brittain made 10 saves on 23 shots.
Central Aroostook 2, Fort Fairfield 1
At Mars Hill, Central Aroostook’s Joe Stiles scored two minutes into the first overtime to give the Panthers the win.
John Theriault got Fort Fairfield on the board 45 seconds into the second half, but Steven Decker and the 4-7-2 Panthers came right back to score the equalizer 20 seconds later.
Central Aroostook goalkeepers Hunter Crouse and Spencer Garrison combinde for five saves on seven shots, while Dawson Cassidy made six saves against 23 shots for 2-9-1 Fort Fairfield.
Foxcroft 3, Old Town 2
At Old Town, Justin Diamond scored off a Evan Hong assist with 1:26 left in the second overtime to lift Foxcroft Academy to the upset victory.
Hong also scored to tie the game with less than seven minutes to play in regulation off a Jeremiah McLeod assist for the 4-7-1 Ponies. FA goalie Mike Lopez stopped 13 of 19 shots.
For 6-4-1 Old Town, Rodrigo Zertuche had two goals with assists by Matt Melanson and Garvey Melmed. Jamison Ploch stopped eight of 12 shots for the Coyotes.
Wisdom 3, Limestone 1
At Saint Agatha, Wisdom’s Jake Lizotte, Evan Esancy and Shane Chamberland each scored a goal to give the Pioneers the win.
Lizotte, Esancy and Kevin Chamberland each had one assist for the winners, while Wisdom keeper Nathan Oakes had 12 saves.
The Limestone-Maine School of Science and Mathematics goal was scored by Tristan Kirk, assisted by Kevin Villareal.
John Bapst 2, Mattanawcook 0
At Husson University in Bangor, Braden Sickles scored a goal in each half to lead John Bapst to victory over Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln. Mitchell Gaetani and Matt Dunning added assists for the 5-5-1 Crusaders, who outshot MA 32-5.
Goalie Adam Strang made two saves on five shots for John Bapst.
Austin Smith made 17 saves on 32 shots for 1-11 Mattanawcook.
Schenck 2, Penobscot Valley 1
At East Millinocket, Matt Thompson’s unassisted goal with nine minutes left in the second half lifted Schenck past Penobscot Valley of Howland.
Nathan Cram also scored for the 8-5 Wolverines on an assist from Thompson, while goalie Jon Chaisson made three saves on seven shots.
Reed ReRosier scored for 5-5-1 Penobscot Valley, assisted by Bryce Martin.
Griffin Libby made three saves on eight shots for the Howlers.
Central 2, Piscataquis 0
At Corinth, Matt Hewitt scored on a penalty kick six minutes into the second half to help lead Central to the win. Andrew Prescott also scored for the 6-5-1 Red Devils, while Kyle Ham stopped three of six shots in goal.
Brandon Leavitt saved six of the 11 shots he faced for Piscataquis of Guilford, now 3-6-2.
Ashland 3, So. Aroostook 2
At Ashland Monday, the Hornets’ Mark Chasse scored 35 seconds into the first overtime to beat Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.
Cody Blair scored off a Michael Cook assist for Ashland, and Nicholas Belanger scored on a penalty kick. JJ Dozer stopped four of six shots for Ashland.
For the Warriors, Cody Lassonde and Cameron Landry scored in the first half, and Austin White stopped 26 of 29 shots.
Nokomis 2, Gardiner 0
At Gardiner, Lindsay Whitney and Taylor Lovley scored first-half goals 10 minutes apart and Kendra Underhill made three saves on five shots as Nokomis of Newport topped Gardiner.
Drew Graves assisted on Whitney’s game-winner with 13:19 remaining in the half.
Emalee Couture had six saves on 11 shots for Gardner.
Dexter 8, Stearns 0
At Dexter, Peyton Watson scored three goals and Sarah Eastman added two goals and an assist as Dexter defeated Stearns of Millinocket.
