WATERVILLE, Maine — A Waterville transient is facing a felony charge after threatening his child’s mother with a knife on Sunday, police said.

Nicholas Robbins, no age given, had met up with the woman around 2 p.m. to discuss visitation arrangements for their child, according to Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey.

It didn’t take long for an argument to ensue between the two, and Robbins promptly showed a folding knife and threatened the woman, Rumsey said.

She contacted police, and officers were able to locate Robbins at McDonald’s on Main Street and took him into custody.

He was charged with domestic violence terrorizing, a Class C felony since he displayed a weapon, according to Rumsey.

Robbins remained at the Kennebec County Jail on Tuesday morning.
