Presque Isle Wishes walk reports amount raised

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Participants in the 12th annual Walk for Wishes in Presque Isle raised $1,700.

Walk sponsors were Spectrum Medical Group, Lowe’s, Big Cheese Pizza, S.W. Collins, Graves Shop and Save, County Physical Therapy, The University of Maine at Presque Isle, the Braden Movie, Wish Dad, Pete Lento, Aroostook Queens, Paige’s Pride and Creative Memories, Tracy Hathaway, Pam Willette, Jessica Bouley, Lynda Stawasz Snelson and Caitlyn Good (Ms. Rhode Island Collegiate America 2013).

A Walk for Wishes will be held in Houlton on Thursday, Oct. 11. Walkers will gather and register at 5 p.m. at the Millar Civic Center. The walk will begin between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Adult walkers raising more than $100 and children under 18 raising $50 or more will receive a Walk For Wishes T-shirt. Register in advance and fundraise online at maine.wish.org.

Wish child Chris, 14, of Presque Isle lives with a life-threatening seizure disorder and is looking forward to his upcoming wish to “be famous for a day,” made possible thanks to donors who support Make-A-Wish Maine through events such as the Walk for Wishes.
