Got Gas event to aid local cancer patients

BREWER, Maine — The Cancer Support Center of Maine, 147 Main St. in Bucksport will hold a Got Gas fundraising event, 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Next Generation Theatre. The event will raise funds for the center’s transportation and gas card program.

The Cancer Support Center is a nonprofit organization, offering free services to cancer patients and their loved ones and free cancer risk reduction education to schools, clubs, health facilities and social organizations.

At the event, The Moon Puppies will perform swing dance music, comedian Mike Bunker will bring on the laughter and volunteers will serve appetizers. Justin Wardwell of Wicked Wines will man the cash bar and many area businesses have donated items for the auction and raffle.

Admission is $20. Tickets may be purchased at Frank’s Bakery in Bangor, Book Stacks in Bucksport, the Next Generation Theatre in Brewer and by calling the center.
