FORT KENT – Richard W. Pelletier Sr., 80, died peacefully Oct. 5, 2012, surrounded by family. He was born March 26, 1932, in Fort Kent, the son of Wilfred and Melina (Hebert) Pelletier.
Richard’s favorite pastime was gardening, and selling his fresh fruits and vegetables in front of the church. He also enjoyed carpentry and hunting, but most of all family gatherings. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife of 57 years, Claudine (Bouchard) Pelletier of Fort Kent, he is survived by his children, Gerald and his wife, Barbara, of Fort Kent, Harold and his wife, Debra, of Fort Kent, Richard Jr. of Madawaska, Roger and his wife, Brenda, of Eagle Lake, Diane and her husband, Carroll Theriault, of Fort Kent, Joan Martin of St. David and Elaine and her husband, Joey Jandreau, of Fort Kent; 17 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Germaine Soucy, Mildred Pelletier, Juliette Pelletier and Gloria Caron; two brothers, Clifford and Wilfred J. Pelletier; three sisters-in-law, Kate Pelletier, Pauline Pelletier, and Joan and her husband, Kenneth Paradis; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Albert “Babe” Pelletier, Ludger Pelletier and Edgar Pelletier.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-10 a.m. Monday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be afterward at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in Richard’s memory to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 E. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
