OLD TOWN AND VEAZIE – Donald E. Foster, 84, died Oct. 3, 2012, at a Boston hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Old Town, son of Carl and Lenora (Randall) Foster, and stepson of Nora Dionne.
He was employed in several area businesses full and part time, in addition to being employed at James River as an electrician, retiring in 1990. He was injured on the job at James River in 1980 and dealt with leg injuries until his death. Don will be remembered as a man of integrity, a good husband, father, grandfather and one who enjoyed talking and being with everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Doucette) Foster; two sons, Stephen D. Foster and wife, Mary, of San Antonio, and Timothy Foster and wife, Rhonda, of Old Town; two daughters, Deborah Hamel and husband, Bruce, of Milford, and Susan Howland of New York; 10 grandchildren, Christopher Foster, David Foster, Jacob Foster, Kristie Foster, Matthew Foster, Derek Hamel, Kimberly Rogers, Cheryl Howland, Aric Howland and Traci Howland; 10 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Tommy Foster and wife, Donna, of Florida. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy V. Blair; son, David; parents; brother, Richard; and his pal, dog, Rusty.
A graveside service will be held noon Tuesday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Please meet 11:45 a.m. at the superintendent’s lodge, State Street entrance.
