Betty J. Royal

TRENTON – Betty J. Royal, 83, died Oct. 1, 2012. She was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Lamoine, a daughter of Olaf and Carrie (Brinkworth) Johnson.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Ellsworth High School and attended Beal’s Business College, Bangor. On Feb. 17, 1968, Betty and Richard were married in Bar Harbor by the Rev. Marsteller. Betty worked at R. F. Sargent, Inc. for 14 years and Penobscot Savings Bank for 16 years. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, and enjoyed her life at their seaside residence.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Richard; grandson, Noah Estabrook and his wife, Charmain, of Florida; great-granddaughter, Violet; sister, Charlotte Davis of Ellsworth; and sister-in-law, Grace Johnson. She was predeceased her son, Mark Estabrook.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth, with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating.
