JONESBORO, Maine — Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. announced Friday morning that it would be shutting down power in Jonesboro and parts of Jonesport Friday afternoon to replace part of a damaged pole.

The outage, which is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and last about 90 minutes, will affect most of the residents of Jonesboro, as well as customers in Jonesport along the Mason Bay Road from the town line up to and including Fire Road in Jonesport, according to a Bangor Hydro press release.

The company apologized in the release “for the last-minute nature of the outage but it is necessary to ensure continued reliable electrical service to residents in the area.” Customers with questions are to call Bangor Hydro’s customer service center at 947-2414 or 800-499-6600.
