BANGOR – Kate Sweeney passed away Sept. 30, 2012. She was born March 9, 1964, in Indianapolis, to Dorothy (Gardner) and John Sweeney.
She graduated from John Bapst Memorial High School in 1982,where she played softball and was a proud alumnus. She was employed in behavioral health at Country Meadows, where she was very devoted to her clients. Kate enjoyed basketball, computers and the good times spent with all of her friends at Springy Pond.
She will be sadly missed by her loving family: her mother, Dorothy; her sisters, Patti and Mary of Bangor; brother, Brian and his wife, Linda, of Tacoma, Wash.; sister, Ellen and her husband, Michael, and their sons, Aaron and Ryan and his wife, Heather, and their son, Colt, whom she adored, all of Brewer; her aunts, Frances and husband, Gene Wyles, of Digby, Nova Scotia, Sister Margaret Gardner of Baltimore and Beryl Gardner of Whiting; along with many cousins and friends. She will also be missed her special kitties, Lila and Hershey; along with her extended family members, Evelyn Conrad and Kevin Gilgan. She was predeceased by her father, John; uncle, Martin; and niece, Teresa Mary.
Visitation hours 5-7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor. A Mass will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 5 at St. John’s Catholic Church, York Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are by Greenlawn Funeral Home.
