MILO – Vincent Albert Boyce passed away Sept. 19, 2012, at Mayo Regional Hospital after suffering a stroke. He was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Brownville, son of Albert Boyce and Regina (Archer) Bowley.
Vinnie served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic stationed in the Azores. He was a member of American Veterans in Massachusetts and at the time of his death a member of American Legion Post 41, Milo. He worked as an auto mechanic and then service manager in Massachusetts before moving to Maine where he worked at PCI, Brownville and then Moosehead Manufacturing, Dover-Foxcroft. Vinnie loved hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He loved people and was always there to lend a helping hand.
Vinne was predeceased by his parents; stepmother, Dorothy Boyce; sister, Diane Erickson; and grandson, Ace Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy (Sharrow) Boyce; sons, Daniel Boyce and Pat, and Vincent and Nicki Boyce Jr.; daughters, Millie and Ace Stanley, Janice Styles, Cathy and Ray Jenkins, Roberta Boyce, and Lisa and Roland Demers; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial gathering of family and friends to remember and celebrate his life will be held 1-4 p.m. Oct. 6 at American Legion Hall Post 41, West Main Street, Milo.
