BAR HARBOR, Maine — A cyclist riding on the trail alongside Acadia National Park’s Bubble Pond fell Friday afternoon and was airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of internal injuries.

Ranger Ed Pontbriand, who is a park emergency services coordinator, said Saturday morning the 53-year-old woman from Manchester, N.H., was stabilized at the scene before being taken by Bar Harbor Ambulance to Mount Desert Island Hospital. From there, she was flown to Bangor.

No information about the woman’s condition was available late Sunday morning, according to an EMMC spokesperson.

The woman was discovered unconscious on the trail at about 1 p.m., Pontbriand said. Her name is not being released. printed on April 28, 2017
