I am surprised that charlie had time to investigate anything being as he is on the campaign trail and still drawing his $100000 salary while conducting his own business agenda and not taking care of the states business. It would seem to me his position could be cut and no one would notice.too bad they wouldnt eliminate his job and add a few more workers to the DMV offices that the people have to deal with. But that investigation could be part of the good old boys club and passed off for the all the votes that the sheriffs office could muster

I’m not a Charlie Summers fan, but I don’t think the Secretary of Sate investigates these things. I believe it is the DHHS Fraud, Investigation and Recovery office, public safety and the AG’s office.

The Secretary of State is a constitutional office. His position cannot be eliminated without a constitutional amendment.

maybe its time for an amendment of some sort. The tax payers should not have to pay his salary when he is on the campaign trail.

Tax payers shouldn’t be paying anyone’s salary, travel, or expenses while campaigning.

Does that go for Obama too?

          • Anonymous

Especially obama and all millionaires and all others for that matter. The lawmakers have the best part time job there is.They work for a few years at least 1 term and have bennies for life. They get their full salary upon retirement full medical and other perks paid for by the taxpayer. Our service men and women, teachers and other retirees get a % of their wages depending on how much they paid in and then in order for the lawmakers to keep their bennies they try to and cut everybody elses.Tell me you get a vacation anywhere in the world at someones expense and no cost to you anytime you want it

All the more reason to revise the Constitution and make it a popularly elective office.

Holy Cow!  How much did that cost us?

    • Anonymous

It’s ok, the cost was well worth LePage’s witch hunt. After all he did say that Medicaid fraud was running rampant in this state, just like voter fraud. Oh wait, that was wrong too. Hmmm… well it’s not like he’s spending his own money, just ours.

haha lepage you didnt get this one either

Of course no mention of Nutting and his million $ plus heist. Why am I not surprised?

We should be concerned with the announcement that the Feds have said over 4 million dollars paid out to unqualified people in the state does not have to be paid back by them, so the TAXPAYERS will be getting hit with the bill.   Must be an election year for the D’s in charge!

lepage and the AG will do anything again they lose haha

Maybe I missed it in the news stories about a couple of doctors who actually had sex with patients and billed Maine Care for the sessions. Were they charged with anything? I am not a DA but it seems that that was worth a criminal charge or two.
