Bernard A. Robertson

BERRYVILLE, VA. – Bernard Arthur Robertson, 93, of died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Robertson was born March 25, 1919, in Millinocket, son of the late Neal Burtrum and Bertha Mildred Hathaway Robertson.

He joined the service when the Army and Air Force were combined. He retired from the Air Force in 1960 as a master sergeant. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from the University of Maine. He was a member of Air Force Sergeant Association Chapter 17, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and American Legion Post No. 84, all of Bangor. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4633, Hampden. He married Rosaleen D. Hall Robertson, Nov. 23, 1944, in Bangor. Mrs. Robertson died July 22, 2010.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet Rose Davidson and her husband, Richard, of Berryville, Va.; two sons, Cary A. Robertson and his wife, Bonnie, of Duncanville, Texas, and Joel W. Robertson and his wife, Kathleen, of Clifton, N.J.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Florence Abigail Gildart and Ethel Mildred Cronkhite; and a brother, Roy Robertson predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, Va. Burial will be private.
