Cumberland County Jail intake sergeant charged with OUI

The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Maine — An intake sergeant at Maine’s Cumberland County Jail has been charged with drunken driving.

Gorham police pulled over 42-year-old Jennifer Slocum on Saturday. Sheriff Kevin Joyce told The Portland Press Herald that she does not drive a vehicle as part of her duties so there’s no immediate effect on her job.

He says there will be an internal investigation once the case is resolved.

A court date has been set for Nov. 14. Slocum couldn’t be reached at the jail Wednesday, and it was unclear if she had retained an attorney.
