So much for the Bush era GOP solution of “no child left behind” helping our students.  But no, wait, now we’re building all those $60,000,0000 schools and that will help.  Perhaps the money would be better spent on hiring more teachers!

The dumbing of America is the result of 40 years of growing worldwide job markets that have sucked manufacturing jobs to third world nations who pay slave labor wages. What does that leave us? With cheap crap from away sold to us in big box stores who employ the part time labors of individuals from within a growing lower class who raise children who’s highest ambition is to make it as far as their parents have (shelf stocker at WallyWorld ). The dumbing of America starts at home. Only motivated parents will change that fact by raising children who are motivated to learn. Think it’s the fault of your schools? Go substitute for a few weeks then come back and tell us what you learned.

The test format changed almost 20 years ago. Kids today are taking a different test. Second of all, more kids are taking the test for the no child left behind act. Before, only college bound kids took the exam. There is a larger pool taking the exam.

The first generation to grow up without grammar in school are now parents. Apparently, that method of teaching is not working. Lastly, not only are lower income people not necessarily educated, but they may have a learning disorder, or dyslexia, so they do not have the earning potential of someone else. The children may have these genetic disabilities, and they may have difficulty getting ahead when their parents do not have a grasp of the language, or the parent they are allowed to be with, because the justice system is tedious, expensive and takes forever, may not have the knowledge, ability or attitude.
