TROY – Lorraine Lloyd Spring died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at her home, after a long illness. She was born May 23, 1949, in Belfast.
Lorraine was affectionately known as “Rainy” and was a member of Faith Community Church, Unity. Lorraine had a passion for the arts and was a talented artist in her own right. She enjoyed restoring and decorating houses. She also loved animals and had a horse named Trapper, for many years.
She leaves behind her parents, Franklin and Elizabeth Lloyd of Milford, Conn.; four children, Jason Shapiro of Concord, N.C., Elizabeth Shapiro of Troy, Susan Shapiro of Waterbury, Conn., and Houlton, and Franklin Mann Harriman of Newport; stepdaughter, Tammy Spring Stolty of Orono; stepson, Stephen Mann of Maryland; six granddaughters, two grandsons; two brothers, Earl Lloyd of Torrington, Conn., and Virgil Lloyd of Chester, Conn.; one sister, Kathleen Stevenson of Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.; as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, with prayers after at Monroe Village Cemetery, Monroe.
