RAYMOND, Maine — A Rhode Island man was taken to a Portland hospital with head injuries Saturday evening after two Harley Davidson motorcycles collided on Route 302 in Raymond.

Capt. Shawn O’Leary of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Cintron Obed, 64, of North Providence, R.I., was taken to Maine Medical Center with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries after the 7 p.m. crash. The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 302 and Webbs Mills Road. Route 302 was closed for more than two hours.

According to O’Leary, Obed was westbound on Route 302 traveling with several other motorcyclists. Obed was making a left turn onto Webbs Mills Road when he was hit by an eastbound motorcycle operated by Harold Blaney, 40, of Raymond, who failed to see Obed making the turn. Blaney was taken to Bridgton Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries to his legs.
