Comments for: Raye wins endorsement; Michaud a predicted victor in 2nd District

Posted Sept. 21, 2012, at 6:43 p.m.

Maine 2nd Congressional District challenger Kevin Raye secured what his campaign calls a key endorsement even as a self-described independent, nonpartisan election analyst predicted his opponent, U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud, would win re-election in November. Both the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Cook Political Report boast success rates with …

Has anyone in Maine ever been paid so much for doing so little for so long?  Nope.

      • Anonymous

Why do you hate Maine’s Veterans?

Why do you fall for a dub who does as little as he possibly can for Maine while being a lap dog for the ultra left Dems in Washington?  Hr is the most ineffective legislator in DC.

          • Anonymous

I’ll take what you call a dub over the lunatic fringe of the GOP.

    • Thats Day after Day after day that a Republican isn’t in his place plotting the demise of the Maine State Government!

Back Bench Mike isn’t in the State Government…Liberals…LOL…

Mike should easily win. He might make a nice Governor someday

    • Anonymous

Chuckie, he’s not governor material. Kind of a bankrupt guy.

      • Anonymous

Being bankrupt multiple times doesn’t have anything to do with ambition(See Trump,D.)
The USCC may be evil slime but they’re smart enough to not throw money away on a lost cause for Raye.

Look Chuckie Cheese, Mr Raye will be next after Mr LePage…
Kevin will be happier than Micheal Jackson at a Chuckie Cheese after the election…

What has Michaud done beside supporting the failed policies of our failed President???

      more crazy talk

      • Anonymous

This is a knee-jerk response. Think for a minute to what  10fu has said and he/she is probably right.

        • Anonymous

No knee-jerk. He said nothing of any substance nor have you.

        • Anonymous

Both you and 10fu could be accused accused of tired, knee-jerk reactions.

    • Anonymous

Let’s see, he supports Veterans.  He has beautiful blue eyes and unlike Raye doesn’t wear glasses on the tip of his nose. what more can we ask for in a Representative? also, Raye says he has brought together D & R in Maine. If he did get in (which I hope never happens) he will find DC is a lot different from Augusta Me.

  • Anonymous

I just don’t see how anyone could vote for Michaud. He’s been around for too long. Time to retire him to Allagash or somewhere else like that.

  • Anonymous

Mr. Raye will win, log it in the books Danno..

      Like uh, far out, man.

Wow, pipe, you’re batting a thousand with these “awesome” comebacks! Heh.

Mikey is the typical poster child for Dems….little to show for all his time in DC (except for his tax and spend votes like Obamacare) and a shameful, spineless lackey to his party’s leadership. Maine can do better.

    • Anonymous

Yes, we need to send another r to Washington who will continue the gridlock and be another  member of the party of ,”No, Nothing”!What has this man actually accomplished for Maine? Do we have more good paying jobs now than before the r’s took over? I know things are bad , but we’re one of the few states that are going backwards in regards to jobs. The  reason is that the r’s focused more on passing their social agenda rather than concentrating on job creation and now he wants us to send him to Washington where the r’s are concerned more on that than job creation? I think not!

      • Anonymous

You forgot to mention LePage and his stupid sign. That worked out well.

  • Anonymous

Mean Mr Mustard can’t ketchup .

    • Anonymous

      awwwww

  • Except for a few die hard republicans, you can stick a fork in this one. Michaud will win because he has earned it. Most know it and support him. The few nay sayers will dredge up unproven claims of a do nothing congressman, but the majority of voters know better.

  • Anonymous

Another great endorsement for Kevin Raye. This election is about jobs and the economy and Kevin Raye is the only candidate in this race that can command that issue. Of course the DC pundits like Michaud they are the ones who fund his campaign! PAC Man Mike!

More out of state meddling by the USCC.  Guess carpet bagging money isn’t enough.

After every Republican Senator stated the sad state of affairs our country is in, Harry Reid took the podium, smiled & lied as usual, and stated all the problems were George Bush & the Republicans fault.

The SENATE has not approved a budget for the past two years.  A FEDERAL LAW but he & the Democratic majority Senate has been too busy.

Our national defense is in serious trouble, unemployment has been over 8 % for 26 MONTHS and the Federal budget is 5 TRILLION in debt the past two years.

OBAMA CARE will eliminate Medicare and Social Security for the legal citizens of the United States that have worked and paid income & Federal withholding taxes their entire lives.

The United States is on the brink of becoming a Socialist Govt.  IF elected, it will be King Obama in February.

Vulture will pick the remains of the destruction from the great recession and Voucher will give you a coupon to Mcdonalds for a happy meal!

  • Jonathan Smith

Mike Michaud has many of Joe Biden’s mannerisms – I really don’t know what people see in him other then to punch their union ticket so they obey the union boss.  All his cute little stories about driving a forklift in Washington DC and his “forklift manual” that he keeps in his desk.  Funny – I have never seen an actual “forklift operation manual”.

    • Anonymous

That’s because there’s no room in his office for it with the commendations and gratitude from people who actually WORKED for a living and FOUGHT for this country.Mike is #1!

  • Conley Raye

I am not a fan of Mike’s plus he is now a career politician. We should not ever let this happen. Kevin is also a career politician even though he does vote bipartisan as did Olympia. I for one, want folks without any experience and owing political favors or be the recipient of lobbying goodies. It is really a corrupt position. No check mark on the ballot from here.

So tell me why only one branch of govt.(executive)has term limits? There is no reason why Congress and the President shouldn’t be limited to 12 years total and the Supreme Court to 25 years.

      • pbmann

The reason the executive branch has term limits is that Republican’s could not defeat FDR in an election so they created an amendment to do what they could not do.

        • Anonymous

I should’ve added that.I guess I was asking it as a rhetorical question.R’s love amendments for every silly thing-and defeating amendments that would benefit all people.

      • Conley Raye

I agree so I can offer no opposition. I believe that career politicians do more damage than good as they seek out to enhance their own worth and the voters are only the pawns, in their eyes.

Big surprise that the USCC, underwritten with millions, if not billions, of Chinese dollars thanks to Citizens United, would support Kevin Raye. If the USCC had their way, there would be no workplace safety regulations, no wage and hour regulations, no environmental regulations and businesses would be allowed to do whatever they want, wherever they want, to whomever they want in their relentless pursuit of the almighty dollar. When money becomes more important than people, society as a whole is “attached to another object by an inclined plane wrapped helically around an axis.” Kevin Raye is nothing more than a puppet for the oligarchs.

    • pbmann

      Well said

No more Democrats/Communists, and no more incumbents. The longer they stay, the more corrupt they get.

    • Anonymous

You have to be at least 80 and illiterate to be still hanging on to the “communists” crap.

    • pbmann

That is like saying no more Repubs/Fascists.

  • Anonymous

Mainers like more of the same..they always did.

  • tag

Why would we possibly elect a businessman instead of someone who has been trained to oppose success? After all, it’s not like we need more jobs and more businesses to come here. And don’t blame poor Mike for not doing anything in office. As a former union boss, he has fought his whole life to ensure that people get more for doing less.
