SACO, Maine — Around 100 volunteers from 11 Home Depot stores in Maine held a “Celebration of Service” event to help homeless veterans in Maine Friday. The event took place at two locations run by Volunteers of America in Saco and Biddeford. In addition, The Home Depot also donated $10,000 in gift cards to purchase the supplies needed to complete the 16 scheduled projects — from painting to new shrubs to a screened-in gazebo. The work was done at the Arthur B. Huot Veterans Housing in Saco and the Veterans Career House in Biddeford.
