TOWNSHIP 9, RANGE 5, Maine — Logs were thrown all over Route 11 when a tractor-trailer truck and pickup collided Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported, state police said Thursday.

Robert Sacco, 60, of Ohio was southbound on Route 11 at about 11 a.m. when Mark Lake, 43, of Stacyville, tried to pass him in a tractor-trailer loaded with tree-length logs and Sacco tried to turn left into a woods road, state police said.

The collision threw the log truck into a ditch, scattering logs, state police said. Lake was hauling tree-length logs owned by Qualey Ranch of Sherman.

Both men were wearing seat belts and were not hurt. Route 11 was limited to one lane of traffic for several hours and both vehicles took heavy damage and were towed from the scene, state police said.

Trooper Jared Sylvia responded to the accident, assisted by Sgt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police and Troopers Dennis Quint and Jill Monahan.
