Jean G. Brooker

FORT FAIRFIELD – Jean G. Brooker, 59, wife of Sheldon L. Brooker, passed away Tuesday evening, Sept. 18, 2012, at a Caribou health care facility, after a brief illness. She was born July 1, 1953, in Presque Isle, daughter of Charles H. and Erstine (Perkins) Gilman.

Jean attended Caribou schools, married Sheldon L. Brooker, May 3, 1969, and will be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed walking, camping and spending time with her family, especially the apple-of-her-eye, her granddaughter, Taneisha.

Jean was predeceased by her parents. She is survived her husband of 43 years, Sheldon; one son, Adam Brooker; one daughter, Shelly Lee M. McEachern; one granddaughter, Taneisha Brooker, all of Fort Fairfield; three brothers, Henry Gilman, Randy Gilman and wife, Kathy, all of Caribou, and Alan Gilman of Fort Fairfield; three sisters, Bonnie Johnston and husband, Russell, of Fort Fairfield, Charleen Savoie and husband, Troy, of Brewer, and Cherie Garmen and husband, Michael, of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews; many, many friends, to numerous to list.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Green Ridge Cemetery, Green Ridge Road, Caribou, with Pastor Steve Young officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Brooker to C.A.N.C.E.R., P.O. Box 811, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Envelopes will be available at the service.
