Ryan Lee Alley

ADDISON – Ryan Lee Alley, 31, died Sept. 16, 2012, at a Bangor hospital due to complications of lung and brain cancer. He was born Jan. 29, 1981, in Blue Hill, son of Brian and Bonita (Emerson) Alley.

Ryan enjoyed working on his Jeep, installing stereo systems, tinting windows, working on motors and engines of all kinds. He was really talented at anything he set out to do. Ryan was going to start lobster fishing this year, which was his biggest dream. He loved being on the water lobster fishing with his grandfather, “GUMP” Winworth Alley and enjoyed speedboats. He especially enjoyed the time spent four-wheeling at night with his special friend, Sherman; and cousin, Patrick. He was adored by his son, Caleb, and they loved spending time together. Ryan was a person of great strength, endurance and determination. He could do anything he set out to do. He never would give up. He fought his illness with courage and great strength to the bitter end.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Caleb Brighton Alley of Beals; three brothers, William Alley and wife, Michelle, of Bangor, Brian Alley Jr. of Beals, and Nicholas Beal and companion, Sherry Stoddard, of Jonesport; longtime girlfriend, Jamie Grant; grandparents, Marie Victory of Columbia Falls, Clifton Emerson and wife, Loretta, of Jonesport; great-grandmother, Inez Beal of Columbia Falls; aunts and uncles, Clifton Emerson Jr. of Jonesport, Ossie Emerson and wife, Dodie, of Addison, special aunt, Annette Emerson of Columbia Falls, Rachael Emerson, Kelsey Jo Emerson, Spencer Emerson and Arden Alley, all of Jonesport; nephews, Trent Lee Beal of Jonesport, Gage Alley, Dylan Alley and Rider Alley, all of Bangor; special and dear friends, Sherman Emerson of Addison, Patrick Farr of Columbia Falls, Chris Rackliff of Columbia Falls and Danny Beal of Florida; and cousins, Jennifer Tawney of Florida, Jacob Emerson of Addison and Emma Emerson of Jonesport. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Winworth Alley of Beals, in 2003, and Timothy Victory of Jonesport ,in 2009; grandmother, Rubena Alley of Beals, in 2009; great-grandparents, Ossie Beal of Beals, in 2003, Lawrence Emerson of Jonesport, in 1990 and Rachael Emerson of Jonesport, in 1999; friend, Dana Purley of Beals, in 2006; and a very special friend who took Ryan under his big wing when he was a child and nicknamed Ryan “Brime” and always would say it’s “Brime Time” when he saw Ryan coming, Lindell Beal of Beals, in August 2012.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at McClure Funeral Home, corner of Charles and Drisko streets, Machias. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Greenwood Cemetery, Jonesport, with the Rev. George Woodward officiating.
