BAILEYVILLE AND FOREST HILLS, N.Y. – Florent “Tib” Thibodeau, 85, passed away Sept. 5, 2012, in Manhasset, N.Y., after a brief illness. He was born in 1926, in St. Francis, and spoke French fluently.

He returned to Maine after his retirement from the Air Force, and worked for a security firm at Georgia Pacific paper mill in Baileyville, where he also dispatched the local police, fire and ambulance.
Florent was predeceased by his brothers, Ferdinand, Phillip, Louis and Benoit; and sisters, Rosalee and Annette. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, a son, a daughter, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
