    The stockbroker was as much a thief as anyone who is an armed robber or a burglar.  He deserves to go to jail as much as anyone else who commits any other property crime.  That he probably wore a suit and tie while stealing from the couple makes him no less a criminal, only a well-dressed one.

      I totally agree! He was trusted for all that time, saw an easy mark, then robbed them. Despicable slimeball.

      ” Yes, as through this world I’ve wandered
      I’ve seen lots of funny men;
      Some will rob you with a six-gun,
      And some with a fountain pen.”

    Since it is his first offence please don’t be to hard on him…. He is not like other low life criminals you know, he dresses better then the common criminal.. be nice to him please.

      Don’t worry.  Since he’s in a Maine state court instead of a federal court, the judge won’t be too hard on him.

      The only reason he dresses better is because their money enabled him to do so.

    The philbrooks sound like a nice family.

    Just another thief in a suit. Why are people always shocked when someone who does not know how to do an honest day’s work turns out to be a thief?

  • I’ll double check with Carmen when she gets done washing the dishes, doing the laundry and making me lunch if she had anything to do with this scam.  Betcha didn’t know she really lives in Maine!!

    Classic buried lede: the really startling news here is that someone in St. Agatha had $195,000.
