    “The second instance involved flashing digital advertising signs at three local businesses. A resident complained to the MDOT about the signs, saying she felt they were a driving distraction.”

    Notice that it says “A” resident ……………………. what ever happen to people minding their own business, then again, she maybe a swivel head and gets easily distracted.

    “MDOT has a regulation that each message on electronic signs has a minimum display duration of 20 minutes.” Little excessive, how long does it take to drive through Machias?

    “A resident complained to the MDOT about the signs, saying she felt they were a driving distraction. ” That resident must be a pisspoor driver if she allows herself to be distracted. Perhaps she should keep her eyes on the road at all times if she knows she’s that easily distracted.

    Simple: Add time and temp to your sign and you get around the 20 minute rule as some local business in Disgusta do (Ex: Steve’s Appliance, Fortin’s Furniture & Appliance, etc.)

    Flashes? Someone could take their eyes off the road long enough to notice?  And this person still has a drivers license?   How could this person get the phone out of the ear long enough to notice?

    LOcal people told the selctmen that they wanted the accessible ramp and they still think they knew better.
