WAYNE, Maine — An Augusta woman was arrested Tuesday morning after she allegedly chased her sister’s boyfriend with a knife, according to police.

Bonnie Gilmore, 28, was booked into the Kennebec County jail on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony, according to Chief Deputy Everett Flannery of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

Flannery said a neighbor called 911 around 10:20 a.m. stating that a female had a knife and told police to hurry to the scene on Pond Road before hanging up.

The man was not allowed to come onto the property, according to Flannery, and he was waiting by the road for Gilmore’s sister to bring him some of his belongings.

“Then [Gilmore] came running out of the house with a knife to confront him,” Flannery said.

The man was able to elude Gilmore, Flannery said, and when Sgt. Scott Taylor and Deputy Scott Cyrway arrived, she was arrested without incident.

Nobody was injured in the incident. Gilmore faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
