SACO, Maine — A Saco man is facing domestic violence assault and drug charges after he assaulted his girlfriend and was found to be in possession of cocaine, police said.

William Dyment, 39, was arrested on Saturday, Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland said.

Saco officers responded to a home on Portland Road near the Scarborough town line for a domestic violence report, according to Holland, and while at the scene, Dyment was also investigated for drugs.

“We did test it and it tested positive for cocaine,” said Holland.

That wound up leading to another charge for Dyment, and he was arrested and booked into the York County Jail on charges of domestic violence assault and possession of a scheduled drug, both Class D misdemeanors.

Dyment’s bail was set at $500, and the woman was not injured. printed on April 26, 2017
