PRESQUE ISLE – Paul R. Kinney, 79, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Aug. 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 17, 1933, in Bridgewater, son of John Frank and Elva (Ross) Kinney.
Paul served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Paul R. Kinney & Sons Trucking, Presque Isle, for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carol (Boulier) Kinney of Presque Isle; nine children, Gordon Paul Kinney and wife, Cindy, of Caribou, Michael Ray Kinney Sr. and wife, Wendy, of Presque Isle, John Dale Kinney and wife, Ethel, of Caribou, Cathy Lee Kinney of Presque Isle, Michelle Dawn Kinney-Powers and fiance, Edward Bragdon, of Presque Isle, Lisa Foster and husband, David, of Presque Isle, Roxanne Hill of Presque Isle, Richard Dean Kinney and wife, Kelly, of Glenburn, and Kellie Sue Flaherty and husband, Rick, of Presque Isle; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Aubrey Kinney and wife, Nancy, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Keith “Ted” Kinney and wife, Lillian, of Glenburn, and Neil R. Kinney of Riley, Kans.; sister, Charlotte Kinney of Chaplin, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Joy Ann Kinney, in January 1962; two grandsons, Darren Arnold Kinney, in June 1997, and Samuel David Foster, in December 2004; and brother, Arnold “Dug” Edward Kinney, in October 1984.
Friends may call 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, Centerline Road, Presque Isle, where funeral services will begin 1 p.m. with the Revs. Galen Doody and Bud Fancy officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater. A reception will be after the burial at Christ Gospel Church, 49 Church St., Presque Isle.
