ALLAGASH – Joseph “Pat” Hafford, 75, died peacefully Aug. 27, 2012, at a Caribou health care facility. Pat was born March 29, 1937, in Allagash, the son of Samuel and Addie (Pelletier) Hafford.
Pat served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of American Legion Jandreau-Connors Post No. 180, St. Francis, and enjoyed woodworking in his garage.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sandra (Moirs) Hafford of Allagash; four children, Brian Hafford of Corinna, Beth Paradis of Corinna, Pat Hafford of Torrington, Conn., and Darren Hafford of Northfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Amanda, Jason and Hannah; four brothers, Leverette and his wife, Barbara Hafford, Donald, Gary and Gordon Hafford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Pat was predeceased by his brothers, Roy, Clarence, Elbert and Tommy Hafford; and one sister, Beatrice.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, and 9-10:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, St. Francis. Committal service with full military honors will be afterward at Allagash Municipal Cemetery, Allagash.
