LEWISTON, Maine — Sun Media Group, owner of several Maine newspapers and news websites, and MBR.org, the state’s leading online sports broadcaster, will partner this season to expand the delivery of live game coverage in Maine.

Starting this football season, websites of Sun Media Group — SunJournal.com and TheForecaster.net — will carry MBR audio broadcasts from high schools in Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin and Cumberland counties.

Sun Media will also deliver live video stream of select in-season games in partnership with MBR.

“MBR delivers a quality product,” said Anthony Ronzio, director of New Media for Sun Media Group. “We are proud to partner with Tom [Nolette] and Matt [Boutwell] to deliver it to our audience and ensure fans near and far can listen to their favorite teams.”

“It’s an exciting time to be covering sports in Maine,” said Boutwell, program director for MBR’s radio division. “This will help expand coverage for those that can’t get to the games, and continue to bring Maine’s high school sports coverage even further into the 21st century. Speaking for Tom, I don’t think we could have asked for better partners than those at the Sun Media Group.”
