Donald L. Tibbetts

BLUE HILL – Donald L. Tibbetts, 73, died unexpectedly Aug. 23, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born July 27, 1939, in Bangor, the son of Leslie M. and Marion A. (Braley) Tibbetts.

Donald served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a long haul truck driver for more than 30 years, and he and his father owned and operated Tibbetts Exxon garage in Brewer for many years. Fishing was his favorite pastime; he liked hunting and he enjoyed boating. He was a member of Ralph J. Pollard Lodge No. 217 AF & AM, Orrington. Donald had a great sense of humor and he will be sadly missed.

Donald is survived by his wife, Muguette M. (Grenier) Tibbetts of Blue Hill; daughter, Beth Gray and her husband, Gary, of Orrington; stepchildren, Belinda Hallett and her husband, Rodney, of Milford, Robert Parent and his wife, Nila, of Raymond, Eva-Marie Frank of Auburn, John Parent of Auburn and Monique Leclair of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Gary, Darrin, Joseph, Joshua, Justin, Zackary, Maranda, Mariah, Ryan and Phillip; and several great-grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Interment will be at Eddy Cemetery, Eddington. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the interment.
