OLD TOWN – Adrien J. Forget, 80, passed away Aug. 24, 2012, at an Orono health care facility. Adrien was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Attleboro, Mass., the son of Julien N. and Florence (McClain) Forget.
Adrien served in the Vietnam War and was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. When he left the Navy, he began a career as an Internal Revenue Service auditor, owned Villa Vaughn campground from 1971 to 1979, and the Old Town Sports Cards shop. An avid sportsman, Adrien also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Adrien is survived by his wife, Rachel (Phillips) Forget of Old Town; two sons, Charles Forget of Veazie and Jeffrey Forget and his wife, Ellen, of Dover, N.H.; four grandchildren, Crystal Forget, Eric Groleau, Cortney Mirabelle and Zachariah Stiles; and two brothers, Arthur Forget of Salisbury, Md., and David Forget and his wife, Colleen, of Buzzards Bay, Mass. In addition to his parents, Adrien was predeceased by his son, Robert Forget; a brother, Armand Forget; and a sister, Florence McCarthy.
A memorial reception will be held 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Orono Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 72 Main St., Orono.
