NEW SWEDEN, Maine — A 42-year-old New Sweden man who allegedly ran from police during a traffic stop on August 16 has been captured.

Deputy Forrest Dudley of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department said Scott R. Plourde, 42, was arrested on Wednesday at his residence on Westmanland Road by members of the Maine State Police and the Maine Warden Service.

Dudley said police received several tips that Plourde was at his residence, and after following up on that information, Plourde was arrested without incident.

He was taken to the Caribou Police Department for processing.

Plourde has been charged with several crimes, including violation of a protection order, refusal to submit to arrest and detention, and violation of conditions of release.

Dudley said law enforcement was grateful to the public for their assistance in apprehending Plourde.
