MAPLETON – John O. Cobb, 82, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. John was born Oct. 31, 1929, son of Edgar and Gladys (Rossignol) Cobb.
John was self-employed as a logger for Great Northern Paper Co. in northern Maine for many years. He was also a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army. He was very proud of his service to our country. He was also a member of Advent Christian Church of Ashland.
John is survived by his wife, Lois (Dean) Cobb; sons and their spouses, Roger and Sharon Cobb of Ashland, Ronald Cobb of New Sweden, and Robin Cobb of Woodland; and stepchildren and their spouses, Paul and Ada Raymond of Masardis, Alan and Terry Raymond of Chapman, Karen Raymond of Chapman, and Donald and Sandra Raymond of Mapleton. He also leaves behind his brother, Charles and wife, Mary Cobb, of Harmony; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elwood and Dorothy Dean of California. He will also be missed by nine grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his daughters, Deliah Cobb and Rosalie Richardson; stepson, Brian Raymond; and sister, Peggy Lancaster.
Friends may call 2-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Advent Christian Church of Ashland, where a service will be held 3 p.m. the Rev. William Harris officiating. A reception will be after the funeral services at the church. There will be a private interment at Harmony Cemetery, Harmony.
