CARMEL – Arnold “Arnie” Weeks, 62, died Aug. 21, 2012, after a brief illness. Born two days before Christmas, Dec. 23, 1949, son of Alan L. and Mavis G. (Newcomb) Weeks, Arnie was a resident of Carmel all his life, and was known by all as a gentle, kind friend and family member.
Arnie graduated from Hermon High School and immediately enlisted in the Navy, where he was schooled as a mechanic and then served on the USS Oriskany during the Vietnam War. He then moved on to work and retire from Osram/Sylvania as a mechanic. Arnie was an outdoors person, who loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, hiking and travel with his new found love, “Dely-Mae” Dunton.
Surviving, in addition to his parents of Carmel, are his spouse, Delma Dunton of Carmel; two sons, Travis Weeks and wife, Dorinda, of Carmel, and Troy Weeks and wife, Kim, of Bangor; three grandchildren, Aaron Weeks, Aden Weeks and Meara Weeks; three brothers, Ronald Meservey and wife, Pat, of Mobile, Ala., Gary Meservey and wife, Pam, of Detroit, and Dennis Weeks and wife, Bonnie, of Carmel; nephew, William Cichocki and his wife, Carla, of Carmel; and nephews, Matt and Tyler Weeks.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, with the Rev.
