SKOWHEGAN, Maine — A food preservation and hands-on workshop will be held at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Somerset County on Thursday, Oct. 30.
The workshop will teach the basics of canning and freezing and how to use pressure canners and water bath canners to preserve pickles, jams and vegetables. Produce and canning jars will be provided.
The session, which runs 6-9 p.m., costs $12. Some scholarships are available.
