Ground broken on Knox County public safety complex

Knox County officials conducted a formal groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday morning at 301 Park St. in Rockland for the expansion of the county's public safety complex. The current jail and sheriff's office is located adjacent to this building that was most recently the offices of VillageSoup. Participating in the groundbreaking are Sheriff Donna Dennison (from left), Ganneston Construction Corp. owner Stacey Morrison, Emergency Management Agency Director Ray Sisk, County Administrator Andrew Hart, Commission Chairman Roger Moody, Communications Director Linwood Lothrop, Commissioner Carol Maines and Commissioner Rick Parent Jr. The sheriff's patrol, communications, and EMA are expected to move into the building in mid-January.
