Manchester woman arrested for repeatedly dialing 911, police say

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

MANCHESTER, Maine — A woman who repeatedly dialed 911 but didn’t have an emergency was arrested and charged with misusing the emergency system, according to police.

Susan Walker, 50, was apparently upset that her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend were trying to leave her Treasure Road home early Sunday morning, Capt. Dan Davies of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said.

Walker, whom Davies said was intoxicated, called 911 to report a family dispute when the daughter and the boyfriend initially tried to leave, Davies said.

She continued to dial 911 even after sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene, telling dispatch that nobody was willing to assist her, according to Davies.

“They warned her not to do it,” Davies said.

Deputies arrested Walker and charged her with misuse of 911, a Class E misdemeanor, Davies said.

Walker was booked into the Kennebec County Jail and later released.
