BANGOR, Maine — A Burnham woman was arrested last week after a Bangor police officer was called to the Leadbetter Mini Stop on Hammond Street for a shoplifting complaint.

When he arrived, Bangor police Officer Brian Smith was told that Jennifer Jean Hunt had attempted to steal two sandwiches and some iced tea worth $11.70, Bangor police Sgt. James Buckley said Monday night.

After running her name in a law enforcement database, Smith learned that Hunt was wanted on three warrants and arrested her. Hunt, who was charged with theft, racked up a drug possession charge after the synthetic hallucinogenic drug bath salts was found on her person.

Hunt, who was arrested on Aug. 13, remained at Penobscot County Jail Monday night, unable to make bail set at $500, a jail official said. She is scheduled to appear at the Penobscot Judicial Center on Oct. 4.
