Police still seeking New Sweden man after he fled traffic stop

HOULTON, Maine — Police continued Friday to search for a man who allegedly ran from police during a traffic stop Thursday.

The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Friday afternoon that deputies still were searching for Scott R. Plourde, 42, of New Sweden.

No further information about Plourde or the traffic stop was being released, but police, U.S. Border Patrol agents and other law enforcement officers searched the New Sweden area extensively Thursday evening. A police K-9 was brought in to aid in the search.
