WINSLOW, Maine — Two people from Waldo County are facing multiple charges after a traffic stop turned up drugs and a knife early Saturday, according to police.
Stephen Patrick Loring, 25, and Melissa Goldberg, 27, of Belfast were pulled over for speeding around 1:38 a.m., and Loring’s vehicle was automatically searched for contraband, as per his bail conditions, Winslow police Sgt. Haley Fleming said.
The sergeant said Loring has been arrested for drug offenses before.
A search of Loring’s vehicle produced the drug DMT, along with marijuana, Ecstasy, a knife and an undisclosed amount of cash, Fleming said.
Loring was booked on charges of unlawful possession of a scheduled X drug and trafficking in dangerous knives while Golberg is facing charges of unlawful possession of a scheduled W drug, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both suspects were taken to the Kennebec County Jail.
