It is nice to see some sense in the local government not bowing down to the reactionary BS.

I haven’t had any issues here at all…wonder if its being made up

“My wife and I have been listening to somebody shoot off fireworks every
night, five to seven nights a week from an hour and a half to three
hours a night and seven hours in a row on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s

That guy’s complaint appears made up. Are his neighbors independently wealthy? They’d have to be if his complaint is valid.

Fireworks aren’t cheap. My last little show for the family cost $300 and lasted less than 20 minutes. (And I was cheap… no finales or big mortars.) It would be easy to spend $1000 in an hour.

      •  How does this appear to be made up?  Please enlighten us….

He already explained how it was made up. The cost would be prohibitive for most people to shoot them off for hours on end night after night. Fireworks are very expensive.

Unfortunately NIMBYs and many in government would rather ban fireworks for all than go after the violators.

welfare loafers buying fireworks with taxpayers money
than setting the fireworks off when taxpayers are trying to sleep for work

‘maine, the way welfare life should be’ state

Shift gears every now and then …. most of these fire works on the lake are vacationers who have left their minds at home before coming to Vacation land.

This issue will not come to any big conclusion until there is a tragedy involving children. If some people used  common sense most of these disputes between neighbors could be avoided. The fireworks retailers pass out a safety sheet that mirrors the advice given by the state fire marshal. Unfortunately the same individuals that can’t used vehicles, motorcycles, boats, snow sleds, ATV s, guns, booze and drugs properly will get their hands on fireworks and the results will be ugly at some point.
