DEDHAM, Maine — A driver who suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident Saturday morning was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.

Lucas Lamond, 20, of Brewer, was driving south on Peakes Hill Lodge Road in Dedham around 12:15 a.m. Aug. 11 when he lost control of his 2000 GMC pickup truck and crossed the oncoming traffic lane before cruising off-road.

The truck hit an embankment and rolled over once, coming to rest on its roof, according to a report by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. The driver suffered several cuts and scratches but did not seek medical treatment.

Lamond was issued a summons on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to report an accident by the quickest means.

Both charges are Class E crimes, punishable by up to six months incarceration and a $1,000 fine.
