Lucia (Oaks) Ouellette

BANGOR AND ST. FRANCIS – Lucia (Oaks) Ouellette, 89, died peacefully Aug. 7, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Connors, New Brunswick, daughter of Vital and Modeste (Michaud) Oaks.

Lucia took great joy in her family and treasured her lifelong friendships. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Raynold Ouellette of Dayville, Conn., Rodney and wife, Joyce Ouellette, of St. Francis, and Norma and husband, Edward Spiers, of St. Francis; eight grandchildren, Joey, Rodney, Tabitha, Mike, Jody, Darian, Amy and Corey; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Adelard Ouellette, in 1991; two daughters, Rowena and Irma Ouellette; grandson, Brian; three sisters, Lillian, Rena and Laura; and brother, Norman.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 East Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Funeral services are being conducted by Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent.
