VAN BUREN – Donald B. Franck, 73, died Aug. 6, 2012, at a Van Buren health care facility. He was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Van Buren, the son of James and Alma (Gagnon) Franck Sr.

Don was a 1957 graduate of Van Buren Boys High School. He worked in the family business for most of his life, owning and operating Jimmy’s Market, Van Buren, for five years. He then worked as a meat cutter for his brother at Jimmy’s Foods for more than 25 years.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rena (Gagnon) Franck of Van Buren; one brother, James Franck Jr. of Van Buren Cove at Long Lake; and three sisters, Joan Bauer of San Diego, Rochelle Chawner of Long Island, N.Y., and Vivian Franck of Portland.

There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be afterward at the parish cemetery.
